LISA BLACKWELL

Financial Professional and President

Lisa D Blackwell, born and raised in Salem, Virginia, married her high school sweetheart (Mike) in 1989 and she has raised three wonderful children, Leighanne, Clayton and Grace.

Lisa started her career in Healthcare for years, and, toward the end, she worked primarily with folks that were on Hospice. She was working long hours, weekends, and holidays and knew she needed to make a change to a field that would allow her to spend more time with her family. What she noticed during this time was that many of the patients did not have any, or at least not enough, life insurance or retirement. This drove her to make it her mission to help as many folks as possible with Life Insurance and retirement products. That was over 12 years ago and she has never looked back.

Lisa moved to the Insurance and Financial Services Industry in 2013. She believes honesty, integrity, and excellent customer service are most important in business relationships. When Lisa established Blackwell Financial, she set out with the objective to help clients eliminate confusion in planning their financial future.

Lisa and Blackwell Financial believe that customer service is key and they consider their clients like family. They are diligent in helping their clients achieve their long-term financial objectives by utilizing insurance products, and feel everyone should have an advisor with a commitment to make life insurance and retirement as simple as possible.

As the New Business Director, Christy leads the charge in welcoming new clients and guiding them through the onboarding process with clarity and care. With a strong focus on relationship building and operational excellence, she ensures that each new client experience is seamless, efficient, and aligned with their long-term financial goals.

Bringing a blend of strategic insight and personalized service, Christy collaborates closely with advisors, and support teams to move new business forward from application to implementation.  Her goal is simple: to make the process smooth and stress-free for everyone involved.

Born and raised in Bedford, Virginia, Christy is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College where she studied Sociology and Education.

Christy loves sports, outdoors activities and anything related to water. She enjoys going to festivals, wineries & breweries and spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. Some of her favorite foods are ice cream, avocado and chocolate!

Retirement Seminar Support Specialist

As a Retirement Seminar Support Specialist, Leighanne plays a vital role in ensuring every retirement seminar runs smoothly and successfully. From coordinating event logistics to assisting attendees with materials and questions, she brings a detail-oriented and customer-first approach to every event. With a passion for helping others prepare for their financial future, Leighanne supports both the planning team and participants, making sure each seminar is informative, organized, and welcoming.



Leighanne was born and raised in Salem, Virginia and graduated from Glenvar High School, and later obtained her Virginia Insurance license.

Leighanne loves spending time with her family, going to the beach, hiking, riding 4-wheelers and attending basketball games. Her favorite season is Fall. She adores Christmas, going to wineries and breweries and listening to live music. Favorite foods are seafood, tacos and of course sweets!
